INTERNATIONAL BACCALAURATE

WHAT IS THE INTERNACIONAL BACCALAURATE (IB)?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an academic programme regarded as a good alternative to A levels, and appropriate if you are thinking about university. It's taught in 143 countries around the world and has two levels of study for students aged 16-19.

The language ab initio course is a language acquisition course for students with no prior experience of the target language, or for those students with very limited previous experience. -IB

The language ab initio syllabus is organized into five prescribed themes:

  1.  Identities
  2.  Experiences
  3. Human ingenuity
  4.  Social organization
  5. Sharing the planet.

In the first quarter of eleven grade we learned about experiences and identity, we saw some sub-topics, such as relationships, friendships, family pets, personal relationships, neighbors, types of friends, and a large vocabulary. With activities like the reunion party, something that I would talk about later.

After that, we learned about experiences, and how they shape our lives, also we studied topics such as daily routine, leisure, holidays, festivals, and celebration. With activities like "Me from another culture", my future degree schedule, and a picture and tell its experience.

And now in the third quarter (currently), we are on the topic of Human Ingenuity. And, I want to show what we have seen, that is basically, how we solve problems using our intellect skills. In this topics, I have seen new words like finicky, inventiness, ability, artfulness, and wit. With activities such as "Inventions" (where we have to create a machine or something that fixes a problem). So I created a Mega deep fryer, it makes a hole plantain or "patacones" by it selfs. I chose this invention because I a fan of patacones and I'm too lazy to do patacones one by one.
